แต่กลับเขลาในเชิงโวหาร ไซราโนจึงหวังช่วยให้คริสเตียนสมหวังด้วยการเป็นผู้เขียนจดหมายบอกรักแทนให้

และใช้โอกาสเดียวกันนี้ได้บอกความในใจแก่ร็อกแซน เรื่องราวความรักสามเส้าแบบผิดฝาผิดตัวจึงเกิดขึ้น

 

 Cyrano, a long-nosed soldier who excels not only in swordsmanship

but also in eloquence beyond description, secretly falls in love with Roxanne, his close friend.

However, believing himself to be unattractive and unworthy of her,

he keeps his feelings hidden.

When a handsome young soldier named Christian, one of Cyrano's subordinates,

falls in love with Roxanne but lacks the wit and eloquence to express his feelings,

Cyrano offers to help him. Cyrano writes love letters on Christian's behalf,

using this opportunity to confess his own feelings to Roxanne.

Thus, a love triangle with mistaken identities unfolds.​
